LA Times publisher resigns

By Cory Bergman

What a mess. The third LA Times publisher since Tribune bought the paper in 2000, David Hiller has resigned. During his 21 months at the Times, he saw two editors come and go, both protesting Tribune’s deep cuts in newsroom staff. A week or so ago, Tribune announced cuts of 250 more people from LAT — 150 from the newsroom. No replacement for Hiller has been announced.
