LA Times announces more cuts

The LA Times will reduce its newsroom staff by 150 people, including some from the web team. “Thanks to the Internet, we have more readers for our great journalism than at any time in our history,” wrote editor Russ Stanton in a staff memo. “But also thanks to the Internet, our advertisers have more choices, and we have less money.” The LA Times also plans to reorganize, “combining the print and Web staffs into a single operation with a unified budget.”
