Integrated Web/TV Producer
Do you have experience working on the web and television and want to put your duel platform background to work?
NBC Weather Plus is hiring a producer that will live in both worlds, producing both television and web content for America’s first 24/7 Digital Broadcast and Broadband weather network.
To qualify for the position, you must be an energetic self-starter who can work on your toes and pay careful attention to detail. You must also be used to deadline pressure and willing to work under sometimes-stressful conditions during uncommon work hours.
Some of your responsibilities will include working with various sources to gather weather-related news, and coordinating to get it on the air. You’ll participate in the management of weathercasts and produce rundowns that tell the day’s weather stories.
You’ll also be tasked with keeping WeatherPlus.com up to date, searching for the latest news on the wires and our internal sources. That will include cutting and posting the latest and most relevant video using PC-based editing tools.
You should have experience with web publishing tools and basic web production tools such as Adobe Photoshop, along with experience writing for the web.
-2-3 years of television line producing experience; experience with severe weather coverage preferred.
-At least 1 year of experience with interactive and content-based websites required
-1-2 years experience writing on the web
-Experience updating stories and working with web publishing tools
-Live control room producing experience on big stories
-Strong leadership qualities and self-motivating
-Must have very strong writing skills and excellent verbal communication skills.
-Experience working with talent on live remotes/field experience
-Experience editing videotape, and working with videotape editors
-Experience coordinating creation of graphics from Art department
-Excellent writing skills – integrity and accuracy are musts
-Knowledge of basics in satellite news gathering and booking
-Ability to grasp meteorological concepts, and communicate well with meteorologists and teammates.
