Hurricane Ike live video streams, links

By Cory Bergman

(Updated)
– The Houston stations are now in wall-to-wall coverage. Live streams on KHOU.com, KRTK’s ABC13.com, KPRC’s Click2Houston.com and KRIV’s MyFoxHouston.com (on its “live” site, MyFoxHoustonLive.com).
– KHOU is simulcasting on DirecTV channel 361, same as WWL for Gustav.
– The Houston Chronicle’s site, Chron.com, is live-blogging the hurricane as well as highlighting selected coverage from its reader blogs. Users can also submit photos and video to the site.
– The Galveston Daily News folks are evacuating. (Amazing photo).
UStream.tv is streaming a few live cameras from the Texas coast, including this one (as of 6 p.m. ET) that shows TV crews on the beach.
Mogulus is offering a few (intermittent) live streams as well.
– HurricaneTrack.com has set up remote-controlled cameras in Galveston and is streaming them live… for a subscription fee, of course.
– TVNewser has the latest on the networks and cable news channels as they get into position. CNN has 70 people along the Texas coast.
– Poynter’s Al Tompkins has updated his storm tools page with Ike links.
– Interestingly, a few Google searches reveals that Houston doesn’t have many non-media news blogs — even Houston’s Metblogs site hasn’t been updated since August. And BlogHouston.net has a single Ike post. If you see some independent blogs covering the storm — or any other live streams and links to Ike resources — please post in comments below…
