Night-Weekend Hub Editor – NBC10.com, Philadelphia- req #091-07

An opening is available for a full-time editorial position based at
WCAU-TV in Philadelphia. The successful candidate will be required to
cover news both locally and remotely for several TV News Web sites on
THREE WEEKNIGHTS and WEEKENDS.

This is a hands-on position that involves gathering and compiling
news from a variety of outlets, including television news partners,
the Internet, wire services and traditional news sources. The hub
editor is responsible for publishing stories, images and video to the
Web sites of three to four different NBC Owned & Operated TV stations,
most of them remotely, with an emphasis on delivering breaking news
accurately, and posting top stories from weekday and weekend
newscasts.

Qualifications and skills required:

· The shift is 10 hours on both Saturday and Sunday plus 6 hours a
night three nights during the week.

· Candidates should have a four-year college degree in
communications, journalism or English.

· At least 2 years experience writing news stories for a daily
newspaper, broadcast news show or other media outlet.

· Complete familiarity with AP style is required.

· Candidates should also be extremely comfortable with computers and
the Web, and have experience with basic programs such as word
processing software, e-mail software and Web browsers.

· The position also involves calling stations to obtain information
about stories, so we are looking for someone who is a proactive and
personable communicator and able to multi-task.
