And just like that, we finally have a HBO Now. The standalone streaming service launched today, just in time to sign up before “Game of Thrones.” Here’s John Oliver encouraging people to sign up just because they need to see “The Wire.”
Of course, Twitter is already testing it out and noticing a few things. Namely, that it’s just like HBO Go and a reason to stop floating your friends with your cable bundle.
HBO Now looks decent, but not as good a user experience as My Dad’s HBO Subscription

Now that HBO Now is available, time to change my HBO GO password. (Seriously, why am I paying for all my friends?)

There’s also some complaints:
Biggest bummer about HBO Now: No linear content. All on-demand like HBO GO.

And it looks like the low price point is already making its mark in some places:
Glad to see that price pressure from Apple and HBO Now have led to RCN lowering their bundle price. Works for me!

Although its only available on Apple devices, the general consensus from cord cutters who have been patiently waiting for this is relief.
