Harrison Ford will be bringing his star power to the small screen in the upcoming Apple TV+ series, Shrinking.
In what is his first major TV role, Ford plays Dr. Phil Rhodes, a down-to-earth “blue collar shrink” who is a pioneer in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Rhodes, who has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, will grapple with his diagnosis as well how it affects his friends, his family and legacy.
Ford will co-star opposite Jason Segel. The 10-episode comedy series follows Segal’s character, a grieving therapist who starts to break the rules by sharing his clients his unfiltered thoughts. By ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives, including his own.
Shrinking will be produced by Warner Bros. Television, with Segel also serving as writer and executive producer alongside Bill Lawrence (Ted Lasso) and Brett Goldstein. Lawrence will serve as showrunner.
The series will mark Segel’s second collaboration with Apple TV+. He also starred in the Apple original film The Sky Is Everywhere, based on the best-selling novel by Jandy Nelson, which premiered this past February.
