Praised be!

The upcoming fifth season of The Handmaid’s Tale will return on Sept. 14 with the release of two episodes, followed by new episodes on Wednesdays on Hulu.

Season 4 ended with June and the other handmaids murdering Commander Fred Waterford, which is then displayed over the words, “Nolite te bastardes carburondorum,” or, “Don’t let the bastards grind you down.”

In Season 5, June faces repercussions for killing Commander Waterford while also attempting to reinvent her identity and purpose. The recently widowed Serena tries to increase her profile in Toronto as Gilead’s influence spreads across the country. As he attempts to reform Gilead and climb to power, Commander Lawrence collaborates with Aunt Lydia. Finally, June, Luke and Moira continue their efforts to save and reunite with Hannah while fighting Gilead from afar.

The series stars Elisabeth Moss, Bradley Whitford, Yvonne Strahovski, Max Minghella, O-T Fagbenle, Samira Wiley, Ann Dowd, Madeline Brewer, Amanda Brugel and Sam Jaeger. Of course, Alexis Bledel announced she would not return for the fifth season.
