Google CEO: Ads on YouTube ‘holy grail’

Google announced less-than-anticipated earnings, which resulted in a big after-hours dip in the company’s stock price. During the earnings call, CEO Eric Schmidt said YouTube is working on new ways to generate revenue. “That is the holy grail,” he said. “When we find it, it’s likely to be very large because of the scope and scale of YouTube.” So far, Schmidt said they’re happy with the lower-third overlay ad, but they’re working on new revenue approaches and products. “I personally do not believe the perfect (YouTube) ad has been invented,” he said.
