GetGlue adds NBC Universal to check-in roster

The entertainment check-in service GetGlue has added NBC Universal to its growing list of media partners. Viewers of NBCU’s cable networks — including USA Network, SyFy and MSNBC — will be able to earn stickers for checking into popular shows via GetGlue’s apps.

In January, GetGlue says it hit a record 900K unique users with 12 million check-ins and ratings. About 25% of check-ins and 50% of the virtual stickers are shared to both Facebook and Twitter, says GetGlue, averaging 25,000 tweets and 25,000 Facebook posts shared every day — social promotion for media companies.

GetGlue added Entertainment Weekly as a partner earlier this month. It’s already working with HBO, ESPN, MTV, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros. and many more entertainment heavyweights. In December, HBO’s parent Time Warner invested $6 million in GetGlue, bringing its total funding to $12 million.
