For All Mankind Renewed for Season 4

Apple TV+ has renewed For All Mankind for a fourth season.

The announcement was made at San Diego Comic-Con and came several weeks after the conclusion of the show’s third season.

Following the Soviet Union’s victory over the United States in the first crewed Moon landing, the series dramatizes an alternate history that shows what would have happened if the global space competition had never ended.

In a different version of events, Soviet astronaut Alexei Leonov set foot on the Moon for the first time in 1969. Although this result destroys NASA’s morale, it also spurs an American drive to catch up. The United States is compelled to keep up by training women and minorities who were generally excluded from the earliest decades of U.S. space exploration because the Soviet Union highlighted diversity by adding a woman in future landings. The second and third seasons, each ten years apart, are set in the 1980s and 1990s, respectively.
