Exclusive: CNN discusses being the first news program to debut a ‘Social Encore’ for ‘Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown’

The Lost Remote Show continues to showcase the best of social TV. CNN, which recently took home the Shorty Industry Award for Best Use of Social Media for News for the second year in a row, just presented. Steve Krakauer, Senior Digital Producer for CNN just presented on the network’s brand new show, “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown,” which recently premiered. Here’s what he discussed.

The first two episodes of the show earned the network a record setting ratings for CNN that more than doubled the network’s Sunday average among the key 25-54 demo. Krakauer discussed how CNN debuted a ‘Social Encore’ for Parts Unknown and became the first news program to launch this type of after show. He discussed how the social encore is the most integrated social and digital experience on any news channel to date.

Further, he discussed how they’re going to continue to grow the show with social. During a special airing of the previous week’s episode, CNN is bring social straight to the TV.
