Ellen, Good Morning America Top Social Shows

ellenDo you think you know what the most popular television shows are on social media? Shareablee has rankings for the top 10 shows of the first quarter and you might be surprised at what’s on top.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show is the No. 1 program, with 10 percent of all engagement across social platforms. Pretty Little Liars is the most social of the primetime and cable shows with an 8 percent growth driven by a 12 percent spike on Facebook and 8 percent increase on Instagram. Good Morning America has the highest actions among broadcast shows, seeing a 37 percent growth over Q1 2015 and also received the most shares and retweets of any TV show at 6.6 million.

  •  TV shows account for 6 percent of engagement across all social platforms with 1.2 billion actions total in Q1 2016. 557.7 billion actions on Facebook, 96.5 million on Twitter, 551.4 million on Instagram, and 32.6 million on YouTube excluding views.
  • TV Shows saw a 67 percent growth in social video engagement, which accounted for 22 percent of TV Shows’ total engagement captured across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
  • TV shows accounted for 18 percent of the total social media engagement captured by the U.S. Media industry.
  • ABC’s Dancing with the Stars earned the highest loyalty among social audiences with an average 57 percent returning engagers on Facebook
