Disney+ has announced the cast for the upcoming original Star Wars series from Lucasfilm The Acolyte.
Joining Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give), are Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game), Manny Jacinto (Nine Perfect Strangers), Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials), Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll), Dean-Charles Chapman (1917) and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix).
Production on the series has already started in the U.K.
In the last days of the High Republic era, the mystery-thriller The Acolyte will transport viewers into a galaxy of dark secrets and burgeoning dark-side abilities. A former Padawan and her Jedi Master meet to look into a string of crimes, but what they find is far more evil than they could have ever imagined.
Leslye Headland serves as the show’s creator, showrunner, and executive producer. The executive producers are Jason Micallef, Jeff F. King, Simon Emanuel and Kathleen Kennedy. Producers are Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson. The series premiere will be directed by Headland.
