Discovery+ ad-free subscribers in the U.S. now have access to offline downloads while traveling, commuting or without an internet connection. This update follows the launch of download capabilities in Brazil.
More than 58,000 episodes of Discovery+ content are available, including shows such as House of Hammer, Fixer Upper and 90 Day Fiancé. Plus, there isn’t a limit on the amount of content users can download, depending on the free space that’s available on their devices.
Subscribers will have the option to select the video quality of downloaded content and whether to download episodes using Wi-Fi or cellular data. This service is available to subscribers on iOS, Android and FireTablet.
Discovery+ ad-free users will now see a “Download” icon next to content available, living in a “Downloads” page that provides easy access from navigation. When offline, the app will default to this page so users can quickly find their content and begin watching.
Content will be available for 30 days from the time of download or 48 hours from when users press play. Expired content can be renewed anytime as long as the user is online. In addition, downloaded content can be watched while outside of the country of service as long as subscribers are offline and the content has not expired.
