Cobra Kai Season 5 and 5 Other Trailers You Missed

Today’s trailer roundup includes Netflix’s Cobra Kai Season 5, Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities and End of The Road; Peacock’s Last Night; and Apple TV+’s Life By Ella and Sidney.

Following the shocking results of the All Valley Tournament, Season 5 finds Terry Silver expanding the Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his “No Mercy” style of karate the only game in town. With Kreese behind bars and Johnny Lawrence setting karate aside to focus on repairing the damage he’s caused, Daniel LaRusso must call on an old friend for help. The cast includes Ralph Macchio (Daniel LaRusso), William Zabka (Johnny Lawrence), Courtney Henggeler (Amanda LaRusso), Xolo Maridueña (Miguel Diaz), Tanner Buchanan (Robby Keene), Mary Mouser (Samantha LaRusso), Jacob Bertrand (Hawk), Gianni Decenzo (Demetri), Vanessa Rubio (Carmen), Peyton List (Tory) and Martin Kove (John Kreese) with Dallas Dupree Young (Kenny), Oona O’Brien (Devon), Griffin Santopietro (Anthony), Yuji Okumoto (Chozen) and Thomas Ian Griffith (Terry Silver).

Acclaimed director Guillermo Del Toro (The Shape of Water, Pan’s Labyrinth) brings chills and thrills with his new horror anthology, Cabinet of Curiosities. It’s a 4-day, double-episode event beginning on Oct. 25 on Netflix. From macabre to magical, gothic to grotesque or classically creepy, these eight equally sophisticated and sinister tales (including two original stories by del Toro) are brought to life by a team of writers and directors personally chosen by del Toro.

Queen Latifah stars in End of The Road premiering on Netflix on Sept. 9.

A cross-country road trip becomes a highway to hell for Brenda (Latifah) and her family. Alone in the New Mexico desert, they have to fight for their lives when they become the targets of a mysterious killer. The film also stars Chris Bridges, Mychala Faith Lee, Shaun Dixon, Frances Lee McCain and Beau Bridges.

Peacock’s Last Light is based on Alex Scarrow’s best-selling novel. In the show, Andy Yeats (Matthew Fox) is a petro-chemist who worries about the world’s dependence on oil, and his worst fears come true while on a business trip to the Middle East. His teenage daughter, Laura, is alone at home in London while his wife, Elena, and young son, Sam, are in Paris. Amid this chaos, each family member will sacrifice everything to find one another, despite the distance and the dangers that separate them. The cast includes Joanne Froggatt, Alyth Ross, Taylor Fay, Amber Rose Revah, Victor Alli, Tom Wlaschiha and Hakeem Jomah.

Last Light streams on Peacock on Sept. 8.

Life By Ella follows Ella as she returns to school with a brand new perspective, excitement for what the future holds and a major “seize the day” mentality following her stint with cancer. With her best friend by her side, she is ready to tackle everything she was too afraid of before. The cast includes Lily Brooks O’Briant, Artyon Celestine, Vanessa Carrasco, Kevin Rahm, Mary Faber, Aidan Wallace, Kunal Dudheker and Maya Lynne Robinson.

Life By Ella premieres on Apple TV+ on Sept. 2.

Produced by Oprah Winfrey, the Sidney Poitier documentary shows Hollywood luminaries including Denzel Washington, Spike Lee, Robert Redford, Barbra Streisand, Halle Berry, Morgan Freeman and Civil Rights Movement leader Andrew Young. Directed by Reginald Hudlin, Sidney celebrates Poitier’s legacy as an actor, filmmaker and activist at the center of Hollywood and the Civil Rights Movement.

Sidney premieres on Apple TV+ on Sept. 23.
