So far this Olympics, social conversations in the US have been heavily skewed toward the primetime airing on NBC. But when Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt won the 100m Olympic gold medal on Sunday, Bluefin Labs noticed something rather fascinating: the social spikes for both the real-time event and the tape-delayed airing were nearly the same. Bluefin measured 23K social comments per minute at 4:50 p.m. ET on Sunday, then 25K comments per minute when it aired at 11:15 p.m. ET.
