Amazon adds batch of FOX TV shows

Lest we forget, Netflix, Hulu and Google aren’t the only players in the online TV space. In an announcement posted on the Amazon.com home page, Jeff Bezos says they’ve signed a new deal with FOX to bring more movies and TV shows to its instant streaming service — 24, Arrested Development and The X-Files are among the new titles.

“We now have deals with CBS, NBCUniversal, Sony, and Warner Bros, and adding FOX will bring the total to more than 11,000 movies and TV shows available for unlimited instant streaming,” Bezos writes. “Since launching earlier this year, we have now doubled the number of titles available in Prime instant videos, and there’s still more to come.”

Of course, this isn’t coincidental. Amazon is stepping up its streaming service in light of Netflix’s recent controversial price hike. Unlimited streaming is available for Amazon Prime members, which costs $79 a year. For those who like to watch TV on TV, Amazon has apps on Roku, Samsung, TiVo, Google TV and several other connected TV platforms.
