NBC this week has announced that it will invest in, and partner with, NowThis News. In two years, NowThis News has become a major player in an evolving news landscape. It is skewed towards younger audiences who seek to consume information – news or otherwise – via short, mobile-friendly videos. The companies will partner to co-produce original, short, videos that are easily shareable, and the relationship will play to their major strengths: NowThis News’s philosophy and NBC News’s resources.
The content that NowThis News and NBC co-produce will span across many NBC properties, including TODAY, MSNBC, NBC News and CNBC.
Kenneth Lerer, NowThis News’s Co-Founder and Manager Director of Lerer Ventures said, “By working together, the NBCUniversal News Group and NowThis News can learn from each other and build a great digital news experience that’s a win-win for the new news consumer who wants all video, all the time, built for social and mobile. This partnership allows us to showcase our shared vision of combining the world’s strongestnews brands with NowThis News to super serve consumers.”
