'60 Minutes' asks for YouTube questions

By Cory Bergman

The news magazine 60 Minutes has launched a channel on YouTube featuring the segments that air every Sunday night. The new channel also includes a franchise called “Ask 60 Minutes” where users can upload questions on a particular story of the week, like Lara Logan’s story from the Afghanistan/Pakistan border that aired last night.

60 Minutes producers may broadcast some of the top-voted responses on TV (that’s a weekly audience of 13 million!) or respond to them directly on their website, 60minutes.com,” explains YouTube’s Steve Grove in a blog post.

It’s great that 60 Minutes is opening itself up to the outside social media world, but as columnist Aaron Barnhart tweets on @TVBarn, “How very 2006.”
