YouTube star Toby Turner (pictured, via) has landed a deal with HarperCollins Children’s Books. Turner plans to create a trilogy of journal-style books based on his cartoon series, Tobuscus Animated Adventures.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show is an “illustrated pseudo-anime and follows two characters: the clueless but cheerful peter pan Tobuscus and his mature, long-suffering companion Gabuscus. Launched in late 2011, the eight-episode series averages 10 million viewers per episode.”
Follow this link to access a video playlist that features the full series. Executive editor Jill Davis will edit the manuscripts. Book one will be released in fall 2015. The two sequels will follow in summer 2016 and winter 2017.
