UK “For Dummies” Publisher Leaves To Follow Mobile Technology

dummies-book-cover.jpgPublisher Jason Dunne, who led the UK side of the “For Dummies” imprint at John Wiley since 2002, will leave the company to consult in the evolving field of mobile phone applications for publishers.

The Bookseller reports that Dunne will build a team of developers and create new publishing applications for cell phones. Are any American publishing executives considering a similar move?

In the article, Dunne explained his move: “The iPhone programmer community is quite dispersed and is crying out for good content ideas. They know there’s money on the table but most don’t have a publisher’s nose.”
