Two Denise Browns, Each With Her Own Tragedy

two-denise-browns.jpgDenise Brown (top) is back in the media spotlight, kicking up opposition to the publication of If I Did It, the book which purports to contain a description by OJ Simpson of how he murdered his ex-wife, who was also Brown’s sister. Which has to be somewhat less than ideal timing for Denise Buel Brown (bottom), who published a memoir back in April called The Unspeakable about dealing with the grief after her husband was murdered by a disgruntled former employee in 1998. So far, the book, published by the University of Delaware Press, has received little attention from the media, apart from an interview in the campus newspaper before one of several college speaking engagements, a mention in her local paper, and a recommendation from the Hartford Advocate. It’s similarly languishing in Amazon.com‘s (admittedly practically meaningless) sales rankings, approximately 200,000 slots below If I Did It.
