Twelve Cancels Mike Ovitz Bio

nikki_finke_ovitz.jpgWe hear on reliable authority—namely our friends at FishbowlLA—that word was sent around the Warner Twelve office this morning about The Man Who Wanted Everything, a biography of Michael Ovitz by LA Weekly reporter/blogger Nikki Finke scheduled for July 2007 publication…the message being that they weren’t, in fact, going to be publishing “the definitive account of… the most powerful man in Hollywood for two decades” (as their promotional catalog dubbed the book, which also described Ovitz as “a combination of Michael Corleone, Sammy Glick, and Icarus”) after all.

Publicity director Cary Goldstein said Twelve had “no comment” on the cancellation when reached by telephone. So we emailed Finke, who wrote back, “I won’t provide details today.”
