Theresa Horner Photo (GalleyCat)Theresa Horner has been hired as the vice president of strategy and new content verticals at Scribd. Her start date has been set for August 4.

Prior to this move, Horner served as vice president of digital content at the Nook division of Barnes & Noble. In the past, she has held positions at Microsoft and HarperCollins.

In a Q&A with the Scribd blog team, Horner discussed the future of digital publishing: “To date, digital books are essentially replicas of print books. I think there is a lot of room for experimentation as content creation tools improve, and as we work through how to incorporate social, geo-location, and data-driven experiences into storytelling.”
