Warner Bros. has hired Thea Sharrock, the director behind the Me Before You movie, to take the helm of The Selection. Last year, the movie studio announced that Katie Lovejoy came on board as the screenwriter.
According to Screen Rant, this film adaptation will be based on the first installment of Kiera Cass’ popular young adult dystopian series. Altogether, Cass wrote five books for The Selection series and a collection of novellas.
Variety reports that the story for the movie follows “America Singer, one of 35 women chosen to compete for a prince’s affections. The protagonist is torn between the opulence of royal life, and a secret relationship she was involved in before the competition started.” (via Yahoo! Movies)
