The End of MINX

9216_180x270.jpgThe comic book world lost an innovative voice today as DC Comics announced that they will close the MINX graphic novel line in January.

The line began in 2007, catering exclusively to teenage girls. Titles ranged from art-focused Janes in Love to surfer girls in Water Baby. The brand pushed for titles under $10, a serious steal in the pricey graphic novel market.

From DC’s statement:

“Minx was an experimental imprint for DC Comics and we are extremely proud of the books we published and the stories we told during the past two years. We thank all of the writers and artists who lent their talents to our endeavor and especially thank readers who came along for the ride.”
