Summit Entertaiment to Adapt Conn Iggulden’s Emperor Novels

Gates of Rome Cover (GalleyCat)Summit Entertainment hopes to develop a Julius Caesar film trilogy. Variety reports that William Broyles Jr., Stephen Harrigan, Burr Steers, and Ian Mackenzie Jeffers collaborated together on the script.

The story for these movies will be based on the first two installments of Conn Iggulden’s Emperor series: The Gates Of Rome and The Field Of Swords. Thus far, Iggulden has written five books for this series.

Here’s more from Deadline: “The books cover their rise to the top of the Roman Empire, and the political and romantic entanglements that culminate in that fatal encounter on the floor of the Roman Senate. The final novel covers the revenge taken on Caesar’s murderers by Octavius and Mark Antony.”
