It’s been a rocky morning for Amazon and major publishers. Penguin has not reached an eBook agreement with Amazon and Hachette has made its official transition to the agency model–transitioning on Amazon with some “hiccups.” UPDATE: Amazon responded to the Hachette problem here.

Here’s more from eBookNewser: “Two more publishers have managed to renegotiate their pricing deals with Amazon. Simon & Schuster and HarperCollins have inked deals to sell their books on Kindle according to the agency model, meaning publishers set the price of eBooks and then they and Amazon split the take according to a preset split, 70/30 in Apple’s case.”
