Scott Kelly Inks Memoir Deal With Knopf

Scott Kelly (GalleyCat)Scott Kelly has signed a deal with the Penguin Random House imprint, Knopf. Kelly (pictured, via) has become well-known for as a NASA astronaut who lived for 340 days in space. He plans to write a memoir entitled Endurance: My Year in Space and Our Journey to Mars.

Margaret Lazarus Dean has signed on as the co-writer for this project. Jonathan Segal, vice president and senior editor, will edit the manuscript. The release date has been scheduled for November 2017.

Here’s more from the press release: “In Endurance, Kelly’s life aboard the ISS is rendered in frank detail, much of it heretofore untold. Kelly captures moments great and small, heart wrenching and harrowing, as well as all the complexities and minutia of his everyday existence in space – the longest mission in history by an American astronaut. He also describes the sensory isolation one experiences after spending an extended period of time in space.”
