Scenes from the Literary Circuit

Prior commitments unfortunately prevented us from dropping in on last week’s season finale of “Stoop Series,” a batch of events sponsored by New York magazine, but we were delighted to hear that the interview contributing editor Logan Hill (right) conducted with artists Christopher Myers and Lauren Redniss drew a good-sized audience, and we’ll look forward to the return of the series in the fall. Also last week, our corporate cousins at FishbowlLA dropped in on Anna David‘s signing at Book Soup, and they’ve a roundup of all the local media celebs who came to cheer her on.

One stop on our itinerary was L’Orange Bleu, where the Harlem Film Festival was welcoming novelist Calvin Baker (left) onto its advisory panel. We chatted briefly about the support Dominion, a historical novel so good even Dale Peck says you should read it, has gotten from online booklovers, and about summer in New York. “So how will you spend your New York summer?” I asked. “Getting out of town,” he laughed.
