Ron Howard has signed on to direct The Girl Before. In the past, Howard (pictured, via) has worked on several book-based projects such as How the Grinch Stole Christmas, A Beautiful Mind, and The Da Vinci Code.
Deadline reports that the story for this film adaptation comes from J.P. Delaney’s not-yet-published thriller. Penguin Random House will release the book in Fall 2016.

Michael De Luca is producing the film with Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer, Howard, and Erica Huggins. Imagine’s Tyler Mitchell will be executive producer, and Elishia Holmes will exec produce for Michael De Luca Productions.”
