Richard L. Simon’s Unpublished Manuscript is For Sale

By Maryann Yin

simonschusterlogoRichard L. Simon, the co-founder of Simon & Schuster, wrote a memoir entitled Fools Give You Reasons.

This 84-page unpublished book focuses on the history and practice of the American publishing industry. Simon discusses topics such as “who reads fiction and why?” and “the effect of television on book buying in America.”

The James Cummins Bookseller currently has a typed up copy on sale for $5,000. Our sister blog, FishbowlNY, predicts that despite the steep price tag “someone is bound (pun intended) to snap up the manuscript.” Follow this link to see a scan of the foreword page.
