That’s a cute picture of a homeless kitten who had the good fortune to be discovered by a literary agent one recent snowy evening.

Agent Jean Sagendorph (who represents the literary estate of the great Charles Schulz’s Peanuts) has sheltered the “Homeless Snow Kitty,” but she already has her hands full with two other cats. Via Twitter and the literary Internets, Sagendorph has tried to find a home for the literary cat.

In a heartwarming response from readers around the country, writers and publishing folk have donated gifts for the person who adopts the cat. Here’s a list of donated items: “1 set of signed Twilight hardcovers. 1 signed 1st edition/1st printing LAST NIGHT IN TWISTED RIVER. Signed Modern Library copies of OWEN MEANY, CIDER HOUSE RULES, and GARP. Signed 1st ed/1st printings of Annie Liebovitz’s A PHOTOGRAPHER’S LIFE and AMERICAN MUSIC. Big bag of kitten food. Big bag of cat litter. Kitty toys. Litter box.”

If you are interested in adopting, email here. Here’s more about the real life GalleyCat: “This kitten is about 5 months old, has a collar, no tag. Can not locate the owners (I assure you, I’ve tried). Assume she was tossed out on the street. She is super sweet & full of cuddles. Litter box champ! Purrs like a chainsaw!” (Via Colleen Lindsay)
