ecolibris-logo.jpgFor Eco-Libris, the selection of The Pillars of the Earth for Oprah Winfrey‘s book club isn’t just a great opportunity to honor Ken Follett, it’s “an opportunity to discuss the urgent need in sustainable reading, which does not harm the environment.” When Raz Godelnik found out that New American Library had pumped out 612,000 new copies of the nearly 1,000-page novel, he came up with a plan: Eco-Libris will plant 50 trees to offset the production of some of those books. They’ll even send the sticker at left to the first 50 people who can offer a very specific proof that they’ve bought the book.
