Pixar Artist Josh Cooley Parodies ‘Pulp Fiction’ for Children’s Book

By Maryann Yin

Josh Cooley, a story supervisor at Pixar Animation Studios, has created a children’s picture book parody for an adult audience. Movies R Fun!: A Collection of Cinematic Classics for the Pre-(Film) School Cinephile contains children’s book-style illustrations that re-create scenes from famous films including Pulp Fiction, The Graduate, and Jaws.

Chronicle Books will release the book on February 25, 2014. The book trailer embedded above offers viewers glimpses of illustrations inspired by Alien, The Exorcist, and Se7en.

Earlier this year, Gallery Nucleus hosted the “Little Golden Tales” which showcased “Little Golden Books”-style pieces that parodied Breaking Bad, Lord of the Rings, and Doctor Who. What films and TV series would you re-create for an illustrated children’s book? (via BuzzFeed)
