Oxford University Press has released a new Oxford English-Chinese Dictionary. The 2,064-page publication contains more than 300,000 definitions and phrases. It carries a $75 price tag.
New Chinese speakers must understand different tones, and the dictionary includes help with sounds: “All the Chinese headwords are shown with Pinyin and tones, so that the learner of Chinese can pronounce each one correctly.”
Back in 2006, HarperCollins launched Citaden.cn, an online Collins English-Chinese dictionary designed specifically for students learning English. When correctly pronounced, “citaden” is the Mandarin-Chinese word for dictionary. (Via Publishers Weekly)
