Did you happen to catch Rudu Motan‘s “Mixed Emotions” on the NYT website earlier this month? It was the last of a half-dozen comics-style essays that Motan had created for the Times since the spring, and came just as the Israeli artist’s first graphic novel, Exit Wounds, is being published by Drawn & Quarterly. Motan’s U.S. tour will bring her to Manhattan this weekend, and she’ll be interviewed by fellow comics artist Matt Madden at the Jewish Community Center Sunday night. And who knows? Maybe she’s sticking around Monday to see if that Best Graphic Novel nomination in the Quills comes through for her…
