Nora Roberts’ Fans Snag Her 2nd Quills Prize

Reed Business Information and NBC Universal Television handed out another round of Quills awards last night at a ceremony at Lincoln Center taped for broadcast this weekend, and the upshot is that Nora Roberts‘s Angels Fall was chosen by “readers across the country” as the Book of the Year after having previously taken the romance award when the category prizes were announced last month. Among the other previously announced prizes handed out during the taping were a posthumous “Platinum Quill” to David Halberstam, and a “Variety Blockbuster Book to Film Award” to the Bourne franchise which, albeit not as silly as last year’s Devil Wears Prada nod, is still open to some debate considering that other adaptations in the period of eligibility include 300, All the King’s Men, Casino Royale, Children of Men, Evening, The Last King of Scotland, Notes on a Scandal, and Shooter. (Hey, I liked Shooter; so sue me.)
