Niko Pfund Named President of Oxford University Press

Niko Pfund has made the jump from acting president to president of Oxford University Press (OUP USA).

Here’s more from the release: “As President, Pfund will manage day-to-day operations for OUP USA, while working within OUP’s new Global Academic Publishing framework, which includes global functions in Sales and Marketing (headed by Al Lewis and Colleen Scollans); Digital/Reference (Casper Grathwohl); Strategy Management, Content Operations, and IT (Catherine Pearce); and Business Development (Dave Bowers).”

Pfund received his education at Amherst College. He joined New York University Press in 1990 and ascended to the positions of director of the press and editor-in-chief. At OUP, he started off as an editorial assistant in law and social science.
