New Hampshire Public Radio Tackles Self Publishing

aagcover.jpgNew Hampshire Public Radio published a piece today about self publishing, analyzing the success story of Hilary Thayer Hamann.

In 2003, Hamann self-published Anthropology Of An American Girl, earning enough readers to score a traditional book deal with Random House’s Spiegel & Grau. The 10-minute piece also included some commentary from this GalleyCat editor.

Here’s an excerpt: “Anthropology Of An American Girl follows a teenage girl from Long Island’s east end in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. It’s been praised by the Washington Post and Oprah’s O magazine, among many others, and landed on summer book lists by Amazon.com and Vogue.”
