Neil Gaiman Pens Intro to New Penguin Sci-Fi Classics Collection

Cf3UVSrUkAAenORPenguin is rereleasing a collection of classic science fiction novels with new covers and intros in what has been titled the Galaxy series of hardcovers.

The collection includes the classic books: The Once and Future King by T.H. White (1958); Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein (1961); Dune by Frank Herbert (1965); 2001: A Space Odyssey by Arthur C. Clarke (1968); The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin (1969) and Neuromancer by William Gibson (1984). Neil Gaiman has penned the intros for a new editions. The Wall Street Journal has more:

Gaiman says Penguin approached him about introducing the six books, which were picked in advance. “I certainly would have been allowed to go in and say, ‘No, no, no, not those,’ but I actually really liked them,” the author says. “They were all books that in one way or another shifted speculative fiction and also at the same time talked about their own time.”
