National Museum of African Art Hosts Exhibit With Art Inspired by The Divine Comedy

Divine Comedy Art (GalleyCat)The Smithsonian National Museum of African Art has been hosting an exhibit called “The Divine Comedy: Heaven, Purgatory, and Hell Revisited by Contemporary African Artists.” The curator, Simon Njami, categorized the artwork into three different sections: heaven, purgatory, and hell.

This art show features works of video, photography, printmaking, painting, sculpture, fiber arts, and mixed media. Some of the contributors include Ghada Amer, Hassan Musa, and Wangechi Mutu.
