The Smithsonian National Museum of African Art has been hosting an exhibit called “The Divine Comedy: Heaven, Purgatory, and Hell Revisited by Contemporary African Artists.” The curator, Simon Njami, categorized the artwork into three different sections: heaven, purgatory, and hell.
This art show features works of video, photography, printmaking, painting, sculpture, fiber arts, and mixed media. Some of the contributors include Ghada Amer, Hassan Musa, and Wangechi Mutu.
