Martha Stewart’s Daughter Dishes in New Memoir

By Dianna Dilworth

Martha Stewart‘s daughter Alexis Stewart has a new book out where she dishes out about growing up with America’s perfect homemaker. In Whateverland: Learning to Live Here, which was co-written with Jennifer Koppelman Hutt, Stewart claims that her home life wasn’t as perfect as one might imagine.

Here is an excerpt from the book: “There was never anything to eat at my house. Other people had food. I had no food. There were ingredients but no prepared food of any kind.”

What does Martha think of the book? She seems amused. MSNBC has more: “‘I actually read the book, oh, maybe a month, a month and a half ago,’ she told her audience. ‘It’s all about growing up, and it is hilarious and it’s enlightening and it’s full of funny stories. It’s irreverent and it’s lots of fun.'” The book comes out from Wiley on October 18th.
