Loathing Ann Coulter Is a Bipartisan Affair

ann-coulter.jpgIt shouldn’t be too terribly surprising when this blog dumps on Ann Coulter; after all, it’s written by a Canadian and a pinko who contributed to Jerry Brown’s ’92 presidential campaign. But apparently she’s such a pain in the ass that even conservatives can’t resist taking a few whacks at her, and News Corp. doubly so. You’ll recall a few months back, when the NY Post intimated she might be a plagiarist; now William Morrow is getting in on the act, gearing up to publish Joe Maguire’s Brainless: The Lies and Lunacy of Ann Coulter. It’s “not exactly the title I had expected for my first book,” Maguire writes on his website, but “Ann Coulter is a scourge on America’s political landscape and it’s our civic duty to wipe people like her from the map of electoral discourse.” OK, so Maguire doesn’t sound particularly conservative—but when you consider that Rupert Murdoch is the one ultimately footing the bill to put this out there, you got to start wondering if Coulter’s summer tirade against the 9/11 widows was the moment she finally jumped the shark.
