Lena Dunham Diary Book Sells Out in Less Than 24 Hours

By Maryann Yin

Yesterday, Lena Dunham released a limited edition print book entitled Is it Evil Not to be Sure?. This project features excerpts from a journal she wrote in when she was 19 years old.

According to Dunham’s instagram post (embedded above), she ordered a first printing of 2,000 copies and signed all the books. Less than 24 hours later, the printed books have already sold out.

Today, Dunham wrote up a “thank you” post on instagram (embedded below) and revealed that the eBook edition has been made available through the Kobo, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon online bookstores. The generated proceeds will go to a New York City-based creative writing and mentoring organization called Girls Write Now.
