p2323.jpgAs dramatic budget cuts loom at some of New York City’s largest publications, some publishers are still posting new jobs. Like a hardboiled gumshoe, GalleyCat has been investigating publishing work on the mediabistro.com job boards.

For your resume-making pleasure, here are a the new postings. First up, The Feminist Press is looking for a Marketing and Publicity Associate. Here’s more about the job: “Assist the Publicity Manager to increase the visibility of the press by securing review coverage and cultivating relationships with the print, broadcast, and online media.” Next, Bloomsbury Publishing Inc. seeks a Creative Director with several years of director experience to work in adult titles.

Finally, Penguin Group (USA) needs a Production Editor. Here’s more about the Penguin position: “Our fast-paced, Dutton/Gotham Managing Editorial department is currently seeking a Production Editor to coordinate all aspects of copyediting and proofreading texts, covers, manuscripts, and blues. Oversees freelancers; prepares manuscripts for production for original hardcovers and trade paperbacks in both fiction and nonfiction.”
