Fox has hired Jennifer Yuh Nelson, the director behind the Kung Fu Panda 3 movie, to take the helm of Darkest Minds. Shawn Levy has come on board as a producer.
Variety reports that this film adaptation will be based on an Alexandra Bracken young adult novel. Altogether, she wrote three novels and a collection of novellas for this dystopian series. Disney Hyperion published book one back in December 2012.

In this case, it’s one where a pandemic has killed off most of America’s kids and teenagers.
