Jennifer McLagan Wins Cookbook of the Year

jamesbeard2.gif “Fat: An Appreciation of a Misunderstood Ingredient,with Recipes” by Jennifer McLagan won the Cookbook of the Year award last night at the 2009 James Beard Foundation Awards.

In addition, “Screen Doors and Sweet Tea: Recipes and Tales from a Southern Cook” Martha Hall Foose won the American Cooking award and Jane Grigson entered the Cookbook Hall of Fame for her entire body of work.

Since 1990, the foundation has given awards for excellence in the food and beverage industry. Nominations for the prestigious foodie awards were made in many categories, including Broadcast Media, Journalism, Book Awards, Design and Graphics, and Restaurant and Chef.
