Internet Famous on Socially Networked Writing Sites

speaker_tammynam_100x100.jpgDuring the an afternoon session at eBook Summit yesterday, two panelists shared stories about the Internet Famous users on socially networked writing sites.

According to Tammy Nam, VP of content and marketing at Scribd, her site has many writers with 15,000 or more followers. “I think that could easily get to hundreds of thousands or even millions of subscribers–it just depends how active you are on the site,” she speculated during the discussion.

On Scribd, GalleyCat found a few writers with this stature. For example, Fred Seibert is a popular writer with 22,554 subscribers–posting cartoon scripts for readers. Kathryn Tyranski is a Reader’s Digest editorial assistant who posts popular articles–earning more than 19,300 subscribers.

Asked the same question, Fictionaut founder Jurgen Fauth highlighted the Reading our own stories on video group and the Significant Objects group as popular community spots on his site.
